Welcome to the memorial page for

Aubrey Lee Moody

December 29, 1939 ~ January 6, 2018 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Mr. Aubrey Lee Moody, 78, went home to be with his Lord on January 6, 2018. Aubrey was born in Dallas, Texas on December 29, 1939 to Gilbert and Opal Moody. Growing up in Dallas, Aubrey was a handsome boy with lots of friends.  He was very close to his family, especially his sister Ginnie.  Aubrey played football at Thomas Jefferson High School.  Aubrey had an eye for beauty and loved making people feel better about the way they looked.  Being a barber was a calling for him and he loved being behind a chair.  He loved natural looks made with a blow dryer and curling iron as opposed to teasing and backcombing.  He enjoyed his own barbershop so he could have independence and make it his own.  Aubrey was a member of the Texas State Hairstyling Team in 1975 and in 1976 he was the Texas State Hairstyling Champion for the International Hairstylist Association.  He was a hairstylist from 1967 until 2009.

In 1990, Aubrey married the love of his life, Linda.  Linda fit him well in so many ways and their love of dancing was such a joy for both of them.  Aubrey enjoyed ballroom dancing, country dancing and “anything in between.”  Once Aubrey could no longer physically dance, he looked forward to someday dancing with Linda again in heaven.

He was mellow, calm, fun, caring, loving and a man of few words.  He let his actions speak for him.  He also enjoyed golfing and water gardening.  His water gardens were featured in the tour of water gardens with the North Texas Water Garden Association.

Aubrey also enjoyed traveling.  He and Linda went many places.  His favorites were Nashville, Hawaii, the Bahamas on a cruise and most of all the Holy Lands.

Aubrey loved the Lord.  He served as an active member and usher at Denton Bible Church until his health declined.  Aubrey was baptized in the Jordan River on a trip to Israel with his wife Linda.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Linda Moody; sons Lee Patrick, Donny Cobb and  Bobby Cobb; daughters Kim Sims, Paige Carroll, Patti Turner and Rhonda Barber.  He is also survived by many grandchildren and nephews. He joins in heaven his parents Gilbert and Opal Moody; son, Del Patrick; and sister, Ginnie Martin.

Public Viewing will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hughes Family Tribute Center.  Services will follow at 2:00 PM at Hughes Family Tribute Center.

Aubrey will be deeply missed by his family and friends but they take great comfort thinking about him dancing for the Lord.
