Connie Hernandez DeAnda
Beloved wife, sister, and aunt, Connie Hernandez DeAnda died peacefully on January 23, 2018. She was loved and respected by family and friends for her thoughtful and unwavering kindness, generosity, and enthusiastic passion for others. Connie was born in Robstown, Texas to Leocadio and Luisa Hernandez on December 2, 1937. She graduated from Robstown High School and moved to Dallas, Texas where she met the love of her life, Raymond D. DeAnda, Jr., whom she married in 1968. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage of 49 years.
Connie was passionate about many things, and it was in those passions that she devoted most of her time. She was an excellent cook and shared her recipes freely, but her greatest passion was as the “family historian”, who without her diligence and tenacity, much of our family history would have been lost. Her impeccable foresight at a very early age proved invaluable to the family genealogy, and we have her to thank for that!
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Mike Hernandez, niece, Jennifer Joy Aceves; nephew Art Hernandez, Jr. and is survived by her husband, Raymond, children: Guadalupe, Wayne, Oscar DeAnda, and Yolanda Salazar; brothers and spouses Albert and Emily Hernandez, Arthur and Tome Hernandez; sister Beatrice and Johnny Aceves, sister-in-law Ester Hernandez (wife of Mike). Beloved nieces and nephews include: John Scott Aceves, Cindy Hernandez, Sandy Hernandez, Oscar Hernandez, Mike and Hilda Hernandez, Gilbert Hernandez; Joel Hernandez, Teresa and Randy Sherrod, Anita and Jeff Goheen, Estela Hernandez, Minesa and Chris Deorocki; Elsa Hernandez, Anna Mendes, Lisa Romero, Leti Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez, and many, many more family and friends.
