Fernando Ruano passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Carrollton, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Fernando was born on January 10, 1941 in Cuba to his parents, Melanio and Anamaria Ruano. In 1963 at the age of 22, Fernando came to the United States and joined the United States Army. After leaving the Army, he worked for AER for decades. When he wasn’t working, Fernando loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was known for being “the life of the party” with his great sense of humor and his contagious smile. He loved to have a good time. Fernando was a godly man who was very generous and giving. Fernando would help anyone in need. Above all, Fernando loved his family very much.
Fernando Ruano is survived by his beloved wife, Elva Ruano; his loving children, Jose Ruano and his wife, Lisa, and Jackie Schwartz and her husband, Kevin; his grandchildren, Gracie Ruano, Analicia Mendoza, Heather Schwartz, and Amber Schwartz; his sister, Maria Esther Ruano; and his two great-grandchildren. Fernando Ruano is preceded in death by his parents, Melanio and Anamaria Ruano, and his siblings.
In memory of Fernando Ruano, the family is requesting donations to the Scottish Rite Hospital be made in his name in lieu of flowers.
