Imogene Crenshaw, age 95, went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2019, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Carrollton. She was born on May 2, 1924, in Athens, TX to Irvin C. and Ollie Mae (Nichols) Holley. Imogene had to leave school in the seventh grade to help her family pick cotton and take care of her siblings. At age 16 she married Luther Pruett and had two children, Judy and Roland. In 1968, she married Samuel Crenshaw and lived in Carrollton. Her greatest joy in life was serving others. Known by many at the church as “Granny”, where she worked for many years caring for the babies in the nursery. In her later years, she could be found walking the halls and getting coffee for her fellow residents at Brookhaven Nursing Home. To her family she was known by many names such as, Mom, Granny, Grandma, Maw Maw and Aunt Gene. She looked forward to seeing her family every Saturday while at the nursing home. She always ended the visit by saying, “Come back and see me.”
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Bush and her husband Don; her son Roland Pruett and his wife Rhonda; 5 grandchildren; Gary Bush and his wife Courtney, Greg Bush, Mandi Licea and her husband Don, Brandi Triplett, and Sheri Johnson and her husband Robert; 7 great grandchildren; Brannon, Chase, Michael, Brayden, Jessica, Skyler and Dylan; 1 great-great grandchild; Scarlett; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam; her brothers Frankie and J.T., her sisters Jimmy, Maxine, Marie and Etha; and her grandchild Brian Ormsby.
She touched many lives and she will be greatly missed.
