Martha Ann (Mabry) Zeiler

September 22, 1944 ~ June 5, 2018 (age 73)

Martha Ann Mabry Zeiler, born September 22, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2018 due to post-surgical complications at the age of 73. She died in peace by her husband’s side in their home of the last 20 years in Pagosa Springs, CO.

She graduated from the University of Dallas in 1967, where she met her loving and devoted husband of fifty years, Ken. Her dedication to Catholic education led her to obtain a Masters of Arts in Theology from Ave Maria University when she was 64-years-old.

Our Mother was a ray of sunshine in every life she touched. She brought a special joy to every occasion, no matter how great or small. She loved the little things in life and attributed everything that is good, true, and beautiful to our God in Heaven. She will be remembered most for her selflessness, charity to the poor, commitment to Catholic education, devotion to her Faith, and her unconditional love for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Wright Mabry and Mary Ann Lacobee Mabry. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Kenneth Theodore Zeiler, her five children: Denise Rohter, Christina Mehaffey, Helene Higginbotham, Fr. Jerome Zeiler O.P., and Veronica Mullally, her fifteen grandchildren, her sister Marilyn Lincoln, and her brother Gary Mabry.

There will be a Rosary held at the University of Dallas Church of The Incarnation on Wednesday, June 13th at 7:00 p.m. Her funeral will be held at the University of Dallas Church of the Incarnation on Thursday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please donate to one of her favorite charities: St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Jamaica or the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.
