Ruth DeLane Warden Ruble
October 10, 1918 – November 21, 2017

Ruth DeLane Warden Ruble passed peacefully to be with the Lord on November 21, 2017, at the age of 99. Ruth was born on October 10, 1918 in Bertram, Texas, to Mabel Ann Warden and Benjamin Franklin Warden, Jr. She attended elementary and high school in Bertram, and attended Mary Hardin Baylor for a short time before marrying Henry Milton Ruble on July 18, 1942. She and Milton had two daughters, and she was always active in the Bertram community and in her church.

Ruth was a wonderful homemaker and devoted her life to the love and care of her family. She was very involved in her children’s activities, and she was quick to volunteer to help at school, church, or community functions. She was very creative and loved sewing and other crafts, and she enjoyed keeping a lovely home and yard. She had a passion for music, and she and Milton had fun times square dancing, being with friends and family, and traveling extensively throughout the U.S. in their RV. Ruth loved her church and served as the organist for the Bertram Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 55 years.

In 2011, Ruth moved to Dallas to be closer to her two daughters. She embraced the change beautifully and enjoyed her years in Dallas, having more time with her family and attending the Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Milton Ruble; her parents, Ben and Mabel Warden; her brother and sister-in-law, Dayton Reed and Wanda Warden; her son-in-law, Dale Singleton; and many other dear friends and family members.

She is survived by her daughters, Syann Singleton and Mary Frances Simpson of Dallas; her grandsons Jeff Singleton and wife Cindy of Greensboro, NC, Greg Singleton and wife Laura of Dallas, and Micah Simpson of Dallas; and sister-in-law Emma Jewel Goodwin of Bertram.

A memorial service for Ruth will be held on Saturday, December 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bertram Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bertram, Texas. Private family burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bertram. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bertram Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
