Suzanne Marie (Smith) Nasser Puig was born on June 5, 1965 to David and Cynthia Smith, in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1979, Suzanne and her family migrated to the United States in 1979, where they lived in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Suzanne went to University of Florida where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. She worked in Raleigh, NC for IBM where she met and married Hazem Nasser. Hazem and Suzanne moved to Orlando in 1991 where Samantha and Adam were born. They moved to Texas in 1996, where Suzanne homeschooled Samantha and Adam and became very active in Christian speech and debate. As her children graduated, she started DFW Speech and Debate to continue her gift of teaching critical thinking. She poured into each of her students and their families with not only critical thinking skills but also her infectious love of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. In 2013, she married George Puig and they lived together in Ft. Worth, TX. She and George enjoying traveling, studying the Word, and going to Christian concerts. Suzanne is survived by her husband George Puig and her two children Samantha Nasser and Adam Nasser. Suzanne’s impact on her students, especially her own children, will leave a legacy that will last for many generations. Suzanne leaves a huge hole in so many lives and will be dearly missed. Her family and friends take great solace knowing she is dancing for the Lord.
