Alexander Reddeck Life Story

Alexander (Alec) Phipps Reddeck
Alec, 84, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024. Born on September 23, 1939, in Statesville, North Carolina, Alec was the beloved son of Patricia Phipps and Thomas Reddeck Jr., a husband to Maria for more than 60 years, a father to Tony and Estelle, and a grandfather to Avery, Jack, Max, and Baz.

Alec, while in the US Air Force, was stationed in Madrid, Spain, where he met his wife Maria. The two were married in Madrid. Once married, they moved to the United States. Alec, a proud North Carolina State University graduate in 1965, embarked on a successful career with Exxon. His work with Exxon took their family between the United States and Europe before settling in Baton Rouge, LA, where they lived for more than 45 years.

In 1977, Alec and two partners opened Engineers Constructors International, Inc. (ECI), a venture that was a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit. In 1991, ECI was sold to Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding Company, marking another milestone in his career. Alec retired in 1997, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

Alec and Maria chose to spend their retirement in Baton Rouge. They embraced the freedom of this new phase of life, enjoying extensive travel and time with their family. In March 2023, they moved to Dallas, Texas, to be closer to their daughter and her family.

Alec was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Phipps, father, Thomas Reddeck Jr., and wife, Maria. He is survived by his brother Thomas, sister Patricia, son Tony; his wife, Teenie; their children, Avery and Jack; daughter Estelle, her husband Michael; and their children, Max and Baz.

Accompanied by family members, Alec and Maria will return to Spain for a Christian burial.
