Alvaro Rico Sosa

Alvaro Rico Sosa Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 5th, 2023, at the age of 73. He was born on August 4th, 1949, in Merida, Yucatan, Tekit, Mexico, to Maria del Soccoro Puerto and Alvaro Sosa Sr.

Alvaro married the love of his life, Alicia Sosa, on May 10th, 1971, and together they enjoyed a wonderful 52 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, always putting his family first, and his love for his wife never faded.

Alvaro was a proud father of two children and a doting grandfather to his four grandchildren. He was known for his infectious smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.

Alvaro worked as a bartender by trade, where he made many friends over the years. He enjoyed talking to people and listening to their stories. He was a fan of the Texas Rangers baseball team and the Leones de Yucatán baseball team. He loved animals and could often be found feeding the stray cats and dogs in his neighborhood.

One of Alvaro's greatest passions was cooking for his family and hosting parties. He loved nothing more than seeing his loved ones gathered together, enjoying his food and each other's company.

Alvaro will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and unwavering love for his family. His passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will live on forever.

Those missing him on Earth include his wife; his daughter, Veronica Rivera and her husband Eder Javier Rivera; his son, Jose Sosa and his wife Shanna Sosa; his grandchildren, Eder Alejandro, Ricardo Rivera, Laura Sosa, and Jewel Stocks; his mother, Maria del Soccoro Puerto; his sisters, Nelly, Gloria, Yolanda, Magaly, and Diana; and his brothers, Juan, Jorge, and Javier.

He will be joining his father, Alvaro Sosa, Sr. in heaven.

Alvaro se casó con el amor de su vida, Alicia Sosa, el 10 de mayo de 1971, y juntos disfrutaron de 52 maravillosos años de matrimonio. Fue un marido devoto, siempre poniendo a su familia en primer lugar, y su amor por su esposa nunca se desvaneció.

Álvaro era un padre orgulloso de dos hijos y un abuelo cariñoso para sus cuatro nietos. Era conocido por su sonrisa contagiosa, su corazón bondadoso y su amor inquebrantable por su familia. Su familia era su mayor alegría y apreciaba cada momento que pasaba con ellos.

Era fanático del equipo de béisbol Texas Rangers y del equipo de béisbol Leones de Yucatán. Su familia y amigos echarán mucho de menos a Álvaro. Siempre será recordado por su buen corazón, su sonrisa contagiosa y su amor inquebrantable por su familia. Su muerte ha dejado un vacío en la vida de quienes le conocieron, pero su recuerdo perdurará para siempre.
