Alvin Castillo Sr.

Alvin Castillo Sr., a dedicated family man and hardworking individual, peacefully passed away on March 30, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Austin, TX, to Simon and Theresa Castillo, Alvin's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to both his family and his work.

Alvin attended Crozier Texas High School in Dallas, Texas, and later went on to dedicate 27 years of service to Western Union before retiring. Known for his strong work ethic, Alvin never ceased to labor, whether it was at home or in his professional life.

At home, he found joy in various activities, including working on his VW, tending to his vegetable garden, and hosting barbecues in his backyard. His adventurous spirit led him to enjoy traveling, with fond memories of trips to New York, San Francisco, Turner Falls, Sandy Lake, and fishing in Lake Lewisville during his younger years.

Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Theresa Castillo, as well as his brothers Joe Guerra Castillo Sr. and Simon Castillo Jr., and sister Maria Castillo. He is survived by his beloved wife Martha Castillo, his sons Alvino Jr. and Antonio, daughters Tina, Bunny, Courtney, and Liza, his sister Angie Gamez, and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services to honor Alvin's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Hughes Family Tribute Center, followed by committal services at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
