Celebrating the Life of Amanda Ramirez Abeyta
Amanda Ramirez Abeyta was born on August 7, 1933, in Dallas, Texas, to Ramon Abeyta and Concepcion Ramirez. She grew up in a close-knit family with her beloved brothers and sisters, whose laughter and love filled their family home. Amanda attended Crozier Tech (now known as Dallas High School) where her quick wit and joyful personality made her a friend to many.
Though dainty in stature, Amanda was fiercely independent. She never married or had children of her own, but her heart overflowed with love for her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She adored spending time with her family, sharing meals, laughter, and stories that became treasured memories. To her loved ones, she was both a favorite aunt and a guiding light.
Amanda lived with a youthful heart and an adventurous spirit. She was joyful, funny, spontaneous, and always up for trying something new. She loved Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior and lived her faith with quiet strength and gratitude.
Each year, Amanda looked forward to her annual trip to the State Fair of Texas, where no visit was complete without a Fletcher’s corn dog. She loved old westerns, American history, and was deeply patriotic, especially fascinated by World War II and Mexican history. On Sundays, you could find her cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys, her eyes lighting up whenever she spoke about Tom Landry or Roger Staubach. She was such a dedicated fan that she even traveled to games beyond Dallas.
Amanda also loved to travel. One of her fondest adventures was a trip to Hawaii with her sister, a memory that brought her joy for the rest of her life. She was an Elvis fan, a lover of good food, and a loyal patron of Dallas favorites like Gonzalez Mexican Restaurant, Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, and Dunston’s Steakhouse.
She lived her entire life in the same charming home her father built in 1950 in the Trinity Groves area, a home filled with warmth, faith, and family gatherings. There she grew older gracefully, surrounded by memories and love.
On October 15, 2025, Amanda passed away peacefully, ready to meet her Lord and reunite with her parents and siblings in heaven. She was the matriarch, the last of her generation, and the keeper of countless family traditions and stories. Her nieces, nephews, and all who knew her will miss her deeply, but they take comfort knowing her joyful spirit lives on in every laugh, every story shared, and every trip to the fair.
She joins in heaven her parents, siblings and niece Mary Eugenia Abeyta. She leaves behind nieces Carmen Abeyta Zambrano, and Dolores Abeyta Ramirez. Nephews Raymond B. Abeyta, Hilario Abeyta Jr. (Lalin), Anthony Abeyta, Rafael Abeyta, Michael Abeyta, Samuel Abeyta and numerous great, great nephews and great, great nieces.
