Ana Lozano Angel Life Story

"She lived for others, loved without limits, and faced every moment with courage and a smile. Her light will never fade."

With profound sadness and immense love, the family of Ana Amanda Lozano Angel announces her passing on July 28, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by those who cherished her most. A woman of boundless kindness, unshakable faith, and unwavering devotion to her family, Amanda leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Amanda was born on July 3, 1957, in Ilobasco, Cabañas, El Salvador, to her beloved parents Elba Angel and Manuel Lozano, who raised her with strong values of compassion, generosity, and faith. Growing up in a close-knit family, Amanda learned early on the importance of caring for others, a virtue that would define her life. Her warmth and radiant smile made her a friend to everyone she met. She had a way of making people feel valued and loved, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer comforting words, or share a laugh even in difficult times. Amanda carried these qualities into every stage of her life, touching countless lives with her kindness and grace.

Nearly five decades ago, while working in San Salvador, Amanda met Jesus Santos, the man who would become her lifelong partner and soulmate. Their love story was one built on mutual respect, deep admiration, and unwavering support for one another. The two married and shared decades filled with love, laughter, and countless memories, raising a beautiful family together until Jesus’s passing in 2021. Despite the heartbreak of losing him, Amanda continued to embody strength, love, and resilience, honoring his memory in every step she took.

Amanda was a devoted mother and grandmother, always prioritizing her family above all else. She had a remarkable ability to make each family member feel uniquely loved, offering guidance, unconditional support, and endless affection. She happily took on the care of her grandsons, finding joy and purpose in nurturing them just as she had her own children. For Amanda, family was everything. Her heart and her home were always open, her love limitless.

This year brought Amanda incredible joy when, for Mother’s Day, her granddaughter and son-in-law gifted her a plane ticket to the United States so she could visit her beloved daughter Elsy in Dallas. The trip was meant to be a precious gift, a time for Amanda to reunite with her daughter, spend cherished moments with her granddaughter, and explore new places around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Amanda embraced every moment of this visit, delighting in the little adventures with her family, sharing meals, laughter, and stories that will now be treasured memories forever. It was during this trip, however, that Amanda received the heartbreaking diagnosis of stage 4 cancer.

True to her nature, Amanda faced this news with remarkable courage and an unshakable positive outlook. She continued to smile, to comfort others even as she endured pain, and to see beauty in every day. She lovingly referred to her hospital stays as “vacations,” joking that she was being treated as if in a “five-star hotel” thanks to the dedicated and caring medical staff who looked after her. This humor and light-heartedness, even in the face of great difficulty, is what made Amanda so special. She never let hardship steal her joy or her ability to uplift others. On July 28, 2025, Amanda passed away peacefully, embraced by the love of her family. Her last moments reflected the life she lived, surrounded by care, warmth, and deep affection.

Amanda was a woman of strong Catholic faith, attending 7 a.m. Mass every Sunday with dedication, only missing when family visits filled her home with joy. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life, a source of strength, hope, and love that guided her actions and gave comfort to those around her. She had a passion for travel and adventure, cherishing vacations with friends and delighting in new excursions. Amanda especially loved the beach, where the sound of waves brought her serenity, and she found great joy in visiting Guatemala, where she created unforgettable memories with loved ones. Her zest for life was contagious, reminding everyone around her to embrace each day fully and with gratitude.

Amanda is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jesus Santos; her parents, Elba Angel and Manuel Lozano; and her brothers, Luis and Aquiles.

She is survived by her daughters Elsy Dunklin (husband, Andre Dunklin) and Jenny Santos (husband, Naily Trejo), her grandchildren, Gerson, Jefferson, Hannah, Fernando, and Yasir; extended family, and a multitude of friends whose lives she touched with her boundless generosity and kindness.

Amanda’s legacy is one of love, selflessness, resilience, and joy. She lived a life that reminded others to cherish their families, hold their faith close, and face challenges with courage and grace. Though she has left this earthly life, her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
