Bhagwan Motwani Life Story

Shri Bhagwan Das Motwani - dedicated husband, father of two, grandfather of four and an inspiration to many - left for his heavenly abode on October 17th, 2022, in Plano, Texas. Born on February 16th, 1947, his strong work ethic, deep devotion to family, and passion for education defined his life of 75 years.

Shri Bhagwan Das Motwani grew up in Bareilly and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh in India. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh in 1968. His college years were the seminal years of his life, and it is there that he picked up lifelong habits of morning yoga, continual learning and analytical thinking. After graduation, he did very well in his corporate career at Radlas Pvt. Ltd. in Lucknow, but it was the pursuit of entrepreneurship that fired his dreams. At the age of 28, he quit his job, and established MB Industries, an iron works factory in Allahabad, which he ran for 10 years.

While living in Allahabad, he married Nimmi Hingorani, in 1978, and together they spent 44 beautiful years as they went about building their family. They welcomed their son, Tanuj, in 1979, and daughter, Anubha, in 1982. The family to Jaipur, Rajasthan in 1985, and it was there that he constructed his house to welcome their extended family, including his parents and uncle. He was a dedicated family man, always putting his family first in everything that he did and caring for his elderly parents and uncle in their old age.

In 1992, Shri Motwani embarked on a new adventure - he established a computer education institute when computer programming was in its infancy in India. He successfully ran the institute till his death and was well known for mastery in database management systems and computer programming, which also resulted in a published book, lectures, and seminars.

In his later years, he developed an interest in gardening and would spend hours tending to his flower plants. He also wrote Hindi poetry and dozens of his poems were published in the leading newspapers in India.

He is survived by his wife Nimmi, son Tanuj (Sasha), daughter Anubha (Rohit), and four grandchildren: Raghav (10), Darsh (6), Madalynn (4) and Maverick (2). He was the best grandfather (Nanu & Dadu), and will always be so very loved and missed forever. Prayer and memorial services in his honor will be held at Hughes Family Tribute Center (9700 Webb Chapel Road, Dallas, TX 75220) on October 19, 2022, at 10:00 AM CT.
