Carmela Theresa Pennica Carrano, 78, of Dallas, TX died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, after a long battle with CBD (Corticobasal Degeneration).

Carmela was born on January 9, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Arline Remy Pennica and Gaetano (Tom) Pennica.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles (Chuck) Pennica, her sister Angelina (Ann) Pennica Simone, and her husband Conrad Francis Carrano.

Carmela leaves behind her daughter, Andrea Carrano Simone; son-in-law, James Frank Simone, Jr. of Dallas, TX; her son Christopher Francis Carrano and daughter-in-law, Corynn Galliano Carrano of Burlington, KY.

A private cremation service was held on Sunday, June 25th, 2023.

Funeral mass arrangements will be shared once arranged.

Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Parsons House.
