Charles Floyd, Jr. Life Story

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Charles Ray Floyd Jr., who departed this life on December 22, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on March 24, 1958, Charles lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a steadfast dedication to his family and the simple joys that made life meaningful.

On July 3, 1983, Charles married the love of his life, Rox Anna Floyd. Together, they built a life rich in love, resilience, and countless cherished memories. Their love was a testament to commitment and devotion, weathering life’s challenges hand in hand and celebrating its triumphs with joy. Their union was one of unwavering support, shared dreams, and an unbreakable bond that will endure beyond time.

A true Texan through and through, Charles had a passion for sports, and his loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers never wavered. Whether it was football season or baseball season, he could always be found cheering on his teams, celebrating victories with excitement and taking losses with the patience of a true fan.

Beyond his love for the game, Charles had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, always eager to cast a line and see what he could catch. He found peace in the stillness of the water, the anticipation of the bite, and the satisfaction of reeling in his catch. Whether it was a big one or just a small fish that barely put up a fight, he enjoyed every moment spent out by the water, especially when shared with loved ones.

At home, Charles took great pride in his garden. He loved watching things grow, from flowers to vegetables, and found a sense of fulfillment in nurturing life from the soil. His garden reflected his patience and care, much like the way he tended to the people around him—with love, dedication, and a quiet understanding of what each person needed to thrive.

Another of Charles’ greatest joys was grilling, and his brisket became a family legend. Whether it was a backyard barbecue or a special occasion, he could always be counted on to fire up the grill and prepare a feast that brought everyone together. Cooking for his family was his way of showing love, and the meals he prepared will remain a cherished part of his family’s memories.

Throughout his life, Charles found immense joy in his work at Domino’s. More than just a job, it was a place where he formed friendships, shared laughter, and took pride in being part of a team. He was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and the kindness he extended to coworkers and customers alike.

Above all else, family was the center of Charles' world. His greatest joy was being "Pawpaw" to his beloved grandchildren. There was no greater honor for him than watching them grow, teaching them life lessons, and creating special moments that they will carry with them forever. Whether it was sharing stories, passing down traditions, or simply spending time together, he made sure his grandchildren knew how deeply they were loved.

Though Charles is no longer physically with us, his legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence was a steady and reassuring force, offering strength in times of hardship and warmth in moments of joy. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will never fade from the memories of those who were lucky enough to have him in their lives.

Charles leaves behind a devoted wife, Rox Anna Floyd; his loving children, Mary Kay Sparks (husband, Johnny Sparks, Jr.), John Parks Floyd, and Charles Ray Floyd III; his adored grandchildren, Nikki Sparks, Johnny Sparks III, Anna Sparks, Brandon Floyd, Brylie Floyd, and Brooklyn Floyd; countless family members; and many dear friends who will miss him beyond measure.
