Darryl Allen Smith

Darryl Allen Smith was born on November 21, 1945, to Wallace & Myrtle (Arthur) Smith. He was 6th born out of 9 children preceded in death by both his parents & his siblings, Norman Smith, Wayburn Smith, Boyd Smith & Jeanette (Smith) Turner. Survived by his siblings, Sonny Smith, Jo Ann (Smith) Patterson, Larry Smith & Brenda (Smith) Boyett.

Darryl graduated from Chowchilla High School in Chowchilla, CA in 1965 where he met & is survived by his wife, Nyeeta (Drury) Smith. They married on April 5, 1966.

Darryl was drafted into the US Marine Corps on July 8, 1966. He was injured during active duty losing sight in his right eye & medically discharged on October 8, 1968.

Darryl attended & graduated from Okmulgee Tech in Okmulgee, OK in 1971 with a focus in Architecture & Engineering.

Darryl owned his own business, Smith Roofing, over the years located in CA, OR & OK. He retired from roofing in 2006 & became a Homeowners Catastrophe Insurance Claims Adjuster retiring from claims adjusting in 2019.

Darryl & Nyeeta had 3 children preceded in death by his son, Steven Smith & survived by his daughter, Shawn (Smith) Lemons & son, Shane Smith.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Troy Drury, mother-in-law, Betty (Billington) Cousins, brother-in-law, Troy “Brant” Drury, brother-in-law, Charles Drury & daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Garrett) Smith.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Terry Drury, son-in-law, Joe Lemons, grandson, Jason Morgan & wife, Allison (Lemons) Morgan, granddaughter, Haley (Morgan) Valencia & husband, Silverio Valencia IV, granddaughter, Macey Morgan & fiancé, Jacob Blair, grandson, Aaron Smith & wife, Felicia (Butler) Smith, granddaughter, Diane Lemons & fiancé, Taylor Walker, granddaughter, Laney (Morgan) Chadbourne & husband, Patrick Chadbourne, great-grandsons, Jadon Morgan & Emory Chadbourne, and many more in-laws, nieces, nephews & cousins.

Darryl passed away in Dallas, TX on June 23, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

He was gentle & kind, loved by ALL who knew him without a single enemy in the world. His memory will be treasured & he will be dearly missed; he was truly a “one of a kind”.
