Dino Steve Sideris
September 21, 1966- January 2, 2024
Our beloved family member and friend that we affectionately call, the Bear, Honey Bear, Baba and Big Dino departed us quietly on the second day of this month. But many of us know much about Dino was not 'quiet'- his laugh was hearty, his hugs were HUGE and his devotion to family and friends fierce!
Dino was born in 1966 in Dallas, Texas to Harry and Tina Sideris. He was the second youngest amongst his three sisters; Pam, Katerina and Sophia. He excelled in sports and football in both high school and college and received his Bachelors from the University of North Texas. He then found his way into the construction business and worked for many prominent companies-with his most recent position being that of Regional Safety Director for Rogers-O'Brien. Dino knew no strangers and thus could easily make any business peer feel seen and heard.
One special evening, the stars-literally-aligned when Dino met Wendy Davenport at a Stars hockey game. It didn't take long for their relationship to blossom and Dino found Wendy's sizable clan to be the perfect fit. And the Davenport's were immediately drawn to Dino's friendly manner and the ease with which he navigated each family member. True to the love that all Sideris men have for sports, Dino proposed to Wendy at a Dallas Mavericks basketball game. Wedding bells rang out in May of 2003, and they stepped into their united life.
Soon, their daughter Isabella was born and their son, Dominic, followed. Dino was smitten with his kids and rough and rowdy with his displays of love for them. He boldly poured himself into Isabella and Dominic by introducing them to various sports and the great outdoors, because as we all know, Dino loved to be in nature. Hunting was a passion for him, and he pulled his hunting buddies close, just like family.
How would we know that the summer of 2023 for Dino, Wendy and the kids would be so meaningful? They completed an epic journey touring many corners of Greece and visiting the village of Dino's mother and father. Dino delighted in exposing Wendy and the kids to his homeland, food and heritage. This trip is forever in their hearts and memories.
A devoted husband, a loving Baba and a caring son will be forever missed.
Me agape-With love.
