On June 24, 2020 at the age of 80 Dominga Ybarra passed away in Dallas, TX.
Dominga started her journey in Scurry, TX on April 7, 1940. She is preceded in death by her father Francisco Ybarra, her brother Louis Ybarra, and brother in-law Robert Hernandez. Dominga is survived by her sister Ramona Ybarra Hernandez. Dominga had numerous children whom she cherished and loved unconditionally. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, great aunt, and a great- great aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Dominga was a very loved women by all who knew her. She never met a stranger that she could not connect with.
At a young age Dominga worked at the Oyster House in Dallas for over 20 years. She enjoyed serving her customers as they would greet her with a “Hello Sunday”, which always put a smile on her face. She then retired from the Hyatt Regency Dallas after 25 years of service.
She would spend countless summers traveling to Edinburg, TX to see her brother and his family during the summertime.
After her retirement she attended Elmwood Senior Center and Good Street Baptist Church where she had numerous friends that she called family. Going to Theme parks was also another great time filled with family fun with her sister Ramona and brother in-law Robert Hernandez. Dominga loved to travel to different casinos. She loved going to Biloxi, MS to enjoy fresh shrimp scamp from a local restaurant. Her favorite pass time was spent cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, LA Dodgers, and the Chicago Bulls. She loved her weekly trips to Wal-Mart to stock up on the latest National Enquirer, and crossword puzzles.
