Dora Elia Acevedo, age 77, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on July 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 20, 1947, Dora was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Dora dedicated her life to her family and community, known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She was a nurturing mother to her children, instilling in them values of kindness, resilience, and love. Dora was also an active member at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses-Belt Line Spanish congregation where she spent countless hours volunteering and supporting those in need.
Her love for cooking brought joy to many, especially during family gatherings where her delicious meals and warm presence were the highlight. Dora's passion for shopping was well-known; she loved finding deals to help those in need and took great joy in giving gifts to others.
She is survived by her loving husband, Romeo Acevedo Jr., and her devoted children, including her sons Romeo Acevedo III and Edwardo Flores. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Dora was preceded in death by her daughter, Susana Gil, her son, Jessie Flores, and her parents.
A celebration of Dora's life will be held on July 22, 2024, at the Hughes Family Center in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, followed by a service from 3:00pm - 4:00pm.
Dora's legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
