Dora Villasana Jimenez Life Story

Dora Villasana Jimenez, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully into God’s loving care on December 15, 2020. She was 95 years old.

Dora was born on January 14, 1925 in Groesbeck, Limestone County, Texas. Dora lived in California at a young age spending time with her sister Eva and family and loving the beach. Dora was a good roller skater when it was so popular in the 1940’s, she loved having fun and dancing. After coming back to Texas, she married Marcus Jimenez and they lived in Dallas’s Little Mexico and eventually made their home in Farmers Branch, TX. Dora was a wife and mother and always took care of her family. She was a mother to seven children and despite her large family she always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Marcus worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children. She was beautiful, kind, honest and had a gentle soul but she would tell you in a heartbeat how she wanted things done. She had spunk and a sharp wit about her but always managed to present herself with grace and elegance. Dora loved all kinds of music, The Andrew Sisters, The Big Bands, and of course Elvis. It’s no wonder her sons sang and played instruments, had their own band The Impossibles and loved music, that was and is the family passion as well as sports, she loved our Dallas Cowboys, her cats and birds. She loved traveling to Los Angeles to spend time with her sister and have fun with family. She worked for many years at Morton Foods in Dallas. Her family takes comfort that Dora is reunited with all her loved ones in heaven, Robert, Marcus, Becky and her brother and sisters, Jasper, Eva, Josephine, Dolores, Hilda and Erlinda. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Dora is preceded in death by parents, Manuela Nuncio Villasana and Gaspar Villasana, our dad Marcus Jimenez Sr., her sons Robert Jimenez, Marcus Jimenez Jr., and her sweet beautiful daughter Becky Luna. Survivors include her sons, Roland Jimenez and wife Cindy of Irving, TX, Frank Jimenez and wife Donna of Temple TX, daughters Dora Gonzales of Waco, TX and Roseanna Jimenez of Irving TX, grandchildren Michael, Diana, Denise, Cristy, Kari, Anita, Cynthia, Robbie, Josh, Corrie, Mark Jr., Marisa and Vanessa and numerous great grandchildren and cousins, nieces, nephews that will carry on the family legacy of unconditional love, respect, and encompass the values and passions that fuel our family. Dora loved Redbirds, she believed when a red bird appears angels are near.
