Be the first to offer your condolences on Edward's Tribute Wall
Edward J. Lynch, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Dallas, Texas surrounded by family. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and was the son of Denis and Helen Lynch. Ed graduated from Cornell University and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Ed was a respected attorney with Exxon, retiring as Associate General Counsel in 1996. His career with Exxon spanned a period of 30 years, during which he was resident counsel for Exxon affiliates in Madrid, Brussels, Hong Kong, and London. He was someone who loved to keep busy, and he continued to work for many years in Dallas as independent counsel specializing in arbitration proceedings. Ed’s passion for traveling and exploring new places always kept him on the go, and he lived life to its fullest. He was a devoted husband and father who will be missed by all.
Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Jill Lynch, along with his five children: James Lynch of Manila, Philippines; Diane Morikawa of Weston, Connecticut; Paul Lynch of Wilton, Connecticut; Kathleen St. Geme of Chandler, Arizona; Carol Lynch of Dallas, Texas; and nine loving grandchildren.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Ed’s life in their own way, raising a glass, taking a trip, and enjoying family in his memory.
Private family services will be scheduled.
