Elizabeth Pryor Life Story

Elizabeth Merle (Drummond) Pryor 85, Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 in Hamilton, Texas.
Elizabeth known as "Dumpy" to her family, was born on March 6, 1939, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Merrel L. Drummond and Nadine E. Fookes.
Elizabeth worked for Piggly Wiggly in Wichita Falls and continued for fifteen years even after moving to the DFW Metroplex (Grand Prairie) in the late 60's. Later, she went to work for InterTurbine which became Pratt and Whitney, for another twenty-eight years. When at Pratt, she started at the bottom and worked her way up to Inspector and proudly once received Employee of the year. After retiring, she went back to the grocery store for Boar's Head and handed out samples in local Kroger stores.
Elizabeth loved everything Elvis. She loved gambling and did so at the casinos or at the horse races. She loved to volunteer for baby sitting at the Women's Shelter and playing bingo at Nursing Homes. Other hobbies included reading, working in the yard and exercising. Her favorite exercises were Aqua aerobics and Spinning at the Summit in Grand Prairie. After moving to Hico in 2021, Elizabeth loved spending time at the Sr. Center, cooking and playing cards with her friends.
Along with her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Pryor, daughter, Brenda Babb, brother Kenneth Drummond and her sister Mildred Walkup and two nephews.
She is survived by her sister, Gayle Gibson (Glen), her brother Roland Givens, her son, James A. Banner, daughter, Bridgette McBroom (Robert), son in law Paul Joseph Babb, Jr., grandchildren, Robyn Mota, Paul Joseph Babb III (Alex), Tori Branyon, James K. Banner and Joshua Banner, many cousins and nieces, especially Teresa and LeeAnn. She loved her 5 grands, 12 great-grands and 8 great-great grands staying in regular contact with them through holiday cards and $1.00. They always looked forward to her cards. "Mom, Sister, Granny, Mama, Aunt Dumpy or Cousin", she loved her family. Elizabeth is also survived by her two cats, Smokie and Callie. She was so fortunate to be able to care and love them these last four months at Pecan Creek Healthcare Center in Hamilton, Texas. They were a great source of comfort. From her early years in Wichita Falls, then to Grand Prairie, Irving, Hico and finally Hamilton, she collected many wonderful friends and our family is thankful to each of them.
