Life Story

Fortino Martinez, amado esposo, padre, Welo y abuelo, falleció el martes 6 de septiembre de 2022 en Dallas, Texas. Nació el martes 12 de agosto de 1958 en San Luis Potosí, México. Fortino creció en el rancho de su familia, rodeado de caña de azúcar, ganado y su favorito: los caballos. Aunque su familia era rica en amor, su familia carecía de dinero, lo que lo dejaba con hambre a menudo. Usó sus experiencias de crecimiento para crear un futuro mejor para su propia familia. Fortino vino a los Estados Unidos para hacer una vida para su esposa e hijos. Se sabía que siempre ofrecía comida y hospitalidad a los demás para asegurarse de que nunca sintieran hambre. Fortino también era conocido por su fuerte ética de trabajo. Comenzó su propia empresa de camiones, FMTZ Trucking. A través de su empresa, obtuvo una experiencia invaluable, pero también mantuvo a su familia. Cuando ya no pudo operar su negocio, mantuvo sus manos ocupadas convirtiéndose en mecánico diesel. Fortino siempre trabajó al servicio de los demás y nunca tomó vacaciones. En cambio, encontró descanso y placer en estar con aquellos a quienes amaba. A menudo le encantaba reunirse con la familia en el lago o alrededor de una parrilla para pasar tiempo con ellos. Cuando no estaba alimentando o cuidando a los demás, Fortino disfrutó comiendo sus comidas favoritas como mole, tamales, chuletas de cerdo Waffle House o bebiendo Dr. Pepper con maní salado. Fortino también disfrutó coleccionando lindas botas y viendo varios programas como Noches con Platanito y programas sobre los milagros de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Fortino era un católico muy fiel que mostraba reverencia a Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Se sabía que besaba un gran crucifijo todos los días antes de salir de su casa. Aunque Fortino podía ser severo a veces y, a veces, incluso se le conocía como "Grumpy", sus lecciones y su legado son verdaderamente de cuidado, amor, humildad y servicio. Realmente creó una vida de prosperidad, amor y parentesco para su familia. Fortino fue una bendición para todos los que lo conocieron.

A Fortino Martínez le sobreviven su esposa, Guadalupe Martínez; su hija, Erica Guzmán y su esposo, Luis; su hijo, Fortino Martínez y su esposa, Griselda; su hijo, Casimiro Martínez, y su esposa, Yaril; y sus hijos, Gabriel Martinez, Brian Martinez y Marcos Martinez. A Fortino Martinez le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Casmiro Martinez Rivera, y su madre, Jova Morua Blanco.




Fortino Martinez, beloved husband, father, Welo, and Grandpa, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on Tuesday, August 12, 1958 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Fortino grew up on his family's ranch where he was surrounded by sugar cane, cattle, and his favorite-horses. Although his family was rich with love, his family lacked money which left him hungry often. He used his experiences growing up to create a better future for his own family. Fortino came to the United States to make a life for his wife and children. He was known to always offer food and hospitality to other to make sure they never felt hungry. Fortino was also known for his strong work ethic. He started his own trucking company, FMTZ Trucking. Through his company, he gained invaluable experience, but also provided for his family. When he was no longer able to operate his business, he kept his hands busy by becoming a diesel mechanic. Fortino always worked in service to others and never took vacations. He instead found rest and pleasure in being with those he loved. He often loved to gather with family at the lake or around a grill to spend time with them. He even bought a karaoke machine to provide his family with more enjoyment and entertainment during gatherings. When he wasn't feeding or taking care of others, Fortino found enjoyment in eating his favorite foods like mole, tamales, Waffle House pork chops, or drinking Dr. Pepper with salted peanuts in it. Fortino also enjoyed collecting nice boots and watching various shows like Noches con Platanito and shows about the miracles of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Fortino was a very faithful Catholic who showed reverence to Our Lady of Guadalupe. He was known to kiss a large crucifix each day before he left his home. Although Fortino could be stern at times and was sometimes even known as "Grumpy," his lessons and legacy is truly one of care, love, humility, and service. He truly created a life of prosperity, love, and kinship for his family. Fortino was a blessing on all who knew him.

Fortino Martinez is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Martinez; his daughter, Erica Guzman and her husband, Luis; his son, Fortino Martinez and his wife, Griselda; his son, Casimiro Martinez, and his wife, Yaril; and his sons, Gabriel Martinez, Brian Martinez, and Marcos Martinez. Fortino Martinez is preceded in death by his father, Casmiro Martinez Rivera, and his mother, Jova Morua Blanco.
