Gabriel Mendoza Sr. Life Story

Gabriel Mendoza, Sr.
June 6, 1949 – October 29, 2025

With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Gabriel Mendoza, Sr. announces his passing on October 29, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on June 6, 1949, in Waelder, Texas, to his loving parents Ysidro and Josefina Mendoza.

Gabriel lived a full and meaningful life built on family, faith, and hard work. He was a man who truly loved the open road, finding peace and joy behind the wheel of his trucks. Driving and taking road trips were some of his favorite ways to enjoy life — they gave him time to reflect, explore, and embrace the beauty of the journey.

He also had a deep love for fishing, where he found calm in the quiet moments by the water. Always a proud Texan, Gabriel enjoyed wearing his cowboy boots and hats, symbols of his strong spirit and timeless style. And for those who knew him best, one thing that always made him smile was a good serving of ice cream, his favorite simple pleasure.

Above all, Gabriel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest pride was his family, and his heart was happiest when they were all together. His wisdom, laughter, and steady presence will forever be remembered.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Esther Mendoza; his children, Adam and Sylvia Mendoza, Josie and Adan Trevino, Sulema and Gabriel Godinez, and Gabriel Mendoza Jr.

He was the proud grandfather of Jessica Mendoza, Karissa Valadez, Joshua Trevino, Gabriel Mendoza III, Celestie Valadez, Marcus Trevino, Alejandro Mendoza, Kaleigh Trevino, Kandace Trevino, Jissele Quintero Mendoza, Aidan Barbosa, Isaiah Quintero Mendoza, and Ava Mendoza.

He also leaves behind five cherished great-grandchildren: Madison Shirley, Bailey Shirley, Gabriel Mendoza IV, Olivia Mendoza, Benicio Mendoza and Valen Trevino.

Gabriel will be remembered for his strength, his gentle heart, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy will live on in the stories, laughter, and memories shared by those who knew and loved him.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his journey continues in the peace and light of God’s eternal care.

Rest in peace, Gabriel. You will forever remain in our hearts.
