Hasith Srisai Chittineni

Beloved son and friend Hasith Chittineni passed away on August 15, 2022 at the age of 11 years old. He was born on April 11, 2011 in Bloomington, Illinois to his loving parents, Dhanunjaya and Vijayalakshmi Chittineni. He was a vibrant, social boy who loved looking his best and dancing, no matter the music. Hasith never knew a stranger, he became friends with everyone. His bright light in this world will be sorely missed by every person who knew him. 

From his first days at Great Hearts, his teachers noted his attentiveness and clear love for learning. He had an enthusiastic sense of wonder and a depth of thinking that made him a wonderful student and peer. One teacher recalls a literature seminar where he stunned her with his reflection about a character who “needed to move on because he couldn’t carry the pain forever.” But where he shone brightest was in math, where he often impressed with his fluency and number sense. Last year, in fifth grade, he was a Prefect and emerged as a star in Square Dance Class where his teachers recount his leadership and how courteous and gentlemanly he was in asking his partner to dance.
