Helen B. Holder Craven was born on November 13, 1922 in Bethany, Louisiana. Helen was the fourth of five children born to Hubert Grady Holder & Winnie Adeline Henson Holder.
Helen had one older sister, Avanelle; two older brothers, Charles Edward and Grady; and one younger sister, Rusha. Her father was a lumberman and she lived in the cities of Troup, TX and Buffalo, TX. During World War II they resided in San Antonio, but after the war, they moved to the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, TX. Helen was a charter member of Prosperity Avenue Baptist Church in Ock Cliff, helping with eh construction of the building and served as a children's Sunday School teacher.
Helen was an integral part of the start o=up of McDonald Photo Products, Inc. in Dallas. She was employed there for 10 years, where she rose to the position of Vice President.
Helen married William "Bill" Craven on December 24,1974, and was happily married for 43 years until his death on May 10, 2018. During their marriage, they loved to travel and enjoyed bowling. They served the Lord faithfully at First Baptist Oak Cliff and Hampton Road Baptist Church. Helen also loved to teach crafts at the local Senior Citizen Center.
Helen moved to Granbury, TX in October 2020. She passed after a brief illness on November 16, 2023 at the age of 101. She is rejoicing with Jesus and reunited with her family.
Helen is survived by her sister, Rusha Petty of Garland; six grandchildren, Keith Goodson (Kelly) or West Tawakoni, TX; Sharon Weber (Time) of Farmersville, TX; Gayla Jackson (Jerry" of Dephne, AL; Kathy Roach (Joe) of Grand Prairie, TX; Velva Aston of Denton, TX; 12 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren.
Helen's earthly body will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, TX next to her beloved husband, Bill.
