Imelda Torres Alcala was called home on December 12th, 2022. She accepted Jesus as her personal savior at the early age of 13 years old at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment in Leakey, Texas.
Imelda was born on October 9th, 1961, to Servando and Celia Saenz Torres in Alice, Texas. She attended Baylor University, Texas A&I University, and Texas A&M Commerce. She impacted lives as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. She was a role model and loved to serve others. She retired in 2013, after a total of 33 years of serving the Carrollton-Farmers Branch and Dallas ISD. She then surrendered to full time ministry with the love of her life, Antonio Alcala, Jr. They moved to Kingsville, Texas to serve at Central Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her precious mother, Celia Saenz Torres; father-in-law, Antonio Alcala, Sr.; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Alcala. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Antonio "Tony" Alcala, Jr.; beloved children, her son, Ozzie A. Alcala of Dallas, and her daughter, Izela B. Maldonado and husband, Christopher of Cross Roads; a granddaughter, River Maldonado; her father, Rev. Servando C. Torres, Sr. and wife, Cecelia of Kingsville; a second mother, her mother-in-law, Pauline Alcala of Denton; her brother, Rev. Servando Torres, Jr. and wife, Marta of Kingsville; her sister, Hilma S. Torres of Arlington; her twin sister, Icelia S. Torres of Grand Prairie; her sister-in-law, Paula Henriquez and husband, Dennys; brother-in-laws, Carlos Alcala of Denton and Edward Alcala of Dallas.
She also has numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
