John Charles Sherwood (12/18/1958 - 9/18/2024) was born in Dallas, Texas to Nova Anne Brown Sherwood and Charles L. Sherwood, Jr. He graduated from Richardson High School in 1977; attended Texas Christian University, where he received a degree in accounting in 1981; and received his Juris Doctor degree from Baylor University in 1984. A respected trial lawyer for 30 years, he was also an avid outdoorsman, an accomplished diver, and an ardent TCU fan. He is survived by his sisters Martha Walrath, Liese Sherwood-Fabre, and Robin Sherwood Moore. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews: Luis Raul Fabre, III; Carlos Roberto Fabre; Alexander William Treber; Fernanda Andrea Fabre; and Stacy Bernice Tong Meng Moore; but doted on his grand nephews and nieces: Izabella Nova Weathersby, Angelo Loyal Weathersby, Gavin Alexander Treber, Luis Raul Fabre IV, and Charlotte Elizabeth Fabre. His life was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Monday September 30th from 10-11 at Hughes Family Tribute Center.
A celebration of life will be held at Monica Park Christian Church at 3127 S 1st St. (Southwest corner of 1st St and Kingsley Rd) in Garland, Texas 75041 on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to the TCU scholarship fund.
