Luis Ceneido Martinez Crespo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, just days shy of his 85th birthday. Born on June 6, 1940, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Luis was the son of Isidoro Martinez and Simona Crespo.
A man of warmth, hospitality, and joy, Luis shared his love through food and friendship. For 32 years, he owned and operated El Gran Chaparral, a beloved restaurant in his hometown of San Lorenzo. More than just a place to eat, the restaurant became a gathering spot where Luis would sing, laugh, and connect with patrons-many of whom became like family. His own family worked alongside him over the years, making the restaurant a true family affair and an enduring legacy of love, flavor, and community.
On June 6, 1975, Luis married the love of his life, Carmen Maria Disdier Gonzalez. Together they built a beautiful life and celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage. After retirement, Luis and Carmen found great joy in traveling the seas on cruises, visiting the Caribbean, Central, and South America-always sharing adventures, stories, and memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isidoro and Simona; and his brothers, Heriberto Martinez and Ramon Emilio Martinez.
Luis will be remembered for the joy he brought to others, his deep devotion to family, his unforgettable voice echoing through the walls of El Gran Chaparral, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
