Lupe Pena

Lupe Garcia Pena, age 84, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Born on February 23, 1933 in Dallas, TX to Feliciano Garcia and Refugio Almaraz Garcia . She was married on September 16, 1951 to the love of her life, Gilberto Hernandez Pena. She is survived by her husband, Gilberto Hernandez Pena; her brother, Juan Garcia; her children, Hector Gilbert Pena, Veronica Pena, Maria De Lourdes Pena, and Maria Pena; her grandchildren (9); her great-grandchildren (12); and her many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was loved and cherished by all who came to know her. She was a spirit-filled, God-fearing woman with unwavering faith; her love and kindness are unmatched and were felt by all. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and her caring and nurturing nature were evident in all that she did for others. Family was her first and foremost priority. Her thoughts and prayers were always filled with hope, peace, and salvation for everyone she loved. She opened her heart and home to many and never turned away a soul in need. She was a devoted member at Iglesia Vida Cristiana and was adored by the entire congregation.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Feliciano Garcia and Refugio Almaraz Garcia; her siblings, Feliciano Garcia, Tomas Garcia, Clara Gonzalez, Francis Rodriguez, Angelica Perez, and Dolores Leija; and her son, Antonio Pena.

A wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, and friend—she will be dearly missed. Viewing will be held on January 30, 2018 at Hughes Family Tribute Center from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Hughes Family Tribute Center on January 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM with the burial immediately following at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
