Maria Ybarra Life Story

Maria Alonzo Ybarra, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 peacefully and surrounded by family. Maria was born to Augustina Avilla on September 9th, 1930 in San Antonio, TX.

Proceeding her in death are her husband Juan Pena Ybarra, brothers Cypriano Alonzo, Johnny Martinez, daughters Dolores Ybarra and Dorothy Miller and son Cesto Ybarra.

Maria is survived by her brother Manuel Alonzo, sons Bacilio Ybarra (wife Mary Ybarra), Marcial Ybarra (wife Cindy Ybarra) and grandchildren Monique Hutchison, John Haire III, Marci Ybarra, Frances Ybarra, Debbe Ybarra, JB Ybarra, Theresa Grace Ybarra-Urbana, and Nancy Ybarra-Bocanegra and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Maria was a very dedicated, loving, caring and independent woman. As a mother and grandmother, she loved nothing more than to spend time with her family. She inspired those around her through the wisdom she gained in her life experiences. You could always count on her to have the perfect advice for any situation. Her family, as well as many of those who crossed her path, were always amazed by how beautiful and humble she was. No matter the occasion, she was always dressed to impress.

Maria enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doing wordsearch and crossword puzzles, watching old western TV and novellas, cooking meals for her family, cleaning and being out around town with her grandchildren.

Above all, Maria was a strong and beautiful soul who gave unconditional love to everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Her memory will be forever kept alive and she will never be forgotten.

Special note from her granddaughter, Marci:

My Wella was the strongest, most amazing and inspiring person I knew. I was always so proud to call her my grandmother and show her off to the world. No matter how much "trouble" we would get into when we went out together, there was always so many laughs and good times. I will never forget all of the advice, life lessons, inside jokes and laughs that we shared. She was truly my best friend. There will never be a day that goes by that I don't miss her and wish I could hug her and kiss her forehead all over again. I can only hope to make her proud in every way possible and carry on her memory for the rest of my life.

Nombre sea de dios. I love you Wella.
