Marianne Lambert, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born in Germany on November 18, 1939.
Marianne was a strong and resilient woman who never lost her faith in God. She battled cancer twice, but through it all, she ministered to those around her with her unwavering faith in "Dr. Jesus." She prayed and read her Bible daily, and often wrote out scriptures on note cards for memorization which only increased her faith and love for God even more. She took in God's word as spiritual food for her soul.
Marianne was an adventurous soul who loved to travel. Upon her husband's retirement from the military, they loaded up a Volkswagen van with their two sons and traveled the United States, collecting a state spoon from each state they visited. They eventually settled in Texas, where their daughter was born.
Marianne was a devoted mother and grandmother who had a deep love for her family. Marianne enjoyed watching her grandchildren & great grandchildren participate in school, recreational and church activities. She was always their biggest fan. To all who knew her, she was affectionately known as "Granny," a name given to her by her grandkids and adopted by their friends and her caregivers.
Marianne's family and friends will always remember her for her passion for cooking and baking, especially her famous German Spice Cookies. Every Christmas and Easter, Marianne would make these delectable treats that were eagerly anticipated by all who knew her.
Marianne will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but they take comfort in knowing that she is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her legacy of faith, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Left to carry on her legacy are two sons, one daughter, five grandsons, one granddaughter, one granddaughter-in-love, one grandson-in-love, one great grandson, four great granddaughters and her beloved family in Germany.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donation be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society www.lls.org
