Mark Edward Dunlap (Doody), passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on August 4th, 2024. He was born to Billy Jack and Patsy (Roberts) Dunlap on April 17, 1965, in Lubbock, Texas. Mark is a 1983 graduate from Coronado High School in Lubbock and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas Tech University in 1987. He moved to Dallas in 1988.
Mark was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, but his most cherished, was as a father to his daughter Sheridan Kay Dunlap of Dallas, Texas.
Mark had a passion for people and had a multitude of friends. He loved spending time with his family, laughing and reminiscing. He loved the Dunlap reunions, camping in the mountains, and BBQ cookoffs. His kindness, dedication, strength and bravery are true testaments of this character.
Mark is survived by his former wife Sheridan and their daughter Sheridan Kay of Dallas, brother Jack Dunlap and sister in-law DeAnn of Lubbock, and sister in-law Jerri Beth Dunlap of Lubbock, nephews Brett Dunlap (Lauren), Justin McKibben (Karen), and Tyler Dunlap, all of Lubbock, nieces Becky Hendrickson (Jesse), and Lacey Seaton (Jonathon) of Lubbock, Krista Rodriquez (Frank) of Mooresville NC. He is also a GREAT Uncle to Bristol, Jayden, Kacey, Mackenzie, Kayleigh, Sadie, Fallon, Elizabeth, Jameson, Jaxon all of Lubbock, Asher and Gavin of Mooresville NC. He is also survived by his many cousins along with his amazing friends.
He is proceeded in death by his son Truitt, father - Billy Jack Dunlap, mother - Patsy (Roberts) Dunlap, brother - Carl Wayne Dunlap, grandparents Theodore and Tishie Dunlap, and Edgar and Stella Vesta Roberts.
Mark fought a good fight, he has finished his race, and he now is rejoicing in Heaven in God's embrace.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Hughes Family Tribute Center in Dallas with services to follow. Afterward he will be laid to rest at the Rosston Cemetery next to his son Truitt.
The pallbearers will be his trusted friends, Mike Taylor, Jeff Johnson, Mark Bryant, Mike Meeks, Kendall Devault, Craig Hall, Todd Kenny, Todd Pool, Frank Bayouth, and Shane Ziegler.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in Mark's memory.
