Michael Alan Nichols, age 84 of Rockwall, TX, passed away on July 16, 2023.
Mike was born in Galveston, Texas. He graduated from Ball High School and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Texas. He spent the majority of his career selling medical equipment to help people with physical needs. In his retirement, he worked casino parties as a dealer, which was his joy. Mike had a passion for life and never met a stranger. He was an avid reader and had an extensive library filled with suspenseful novels. His family and friends will dearly miss his optimism, stories and laughter.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Nick Agorastos and Alice Collins; his sister, Helene Rose; his grandson, Kyle Milliman; and long-time friend Cyndi Clark. He is survived by his sister, Mary Louise “Suzy” Peek Morris and husband Charles; son Michael Agorastos and wife Kay; daughters Stephanie Dhonau and husband Craig; Susan Milliman; and Amy Skehan; sons Blake Nichols and wife Ashley; and Christopher Nichols.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Jill (Ben) Little, Ned (Jenna) Dhonau, Meg (Landon) Martin, Bailey (Ryan) Dawson, Dylan Grant, Skyla Agorastos, Chance Agorastos, London Agorastos, Samantha Nichols, and Austin Nichols; great-grandchildren Noah, George, Luca and Jennifer; his cousins Bill Parr and George “Nicky” Agorastos; his buddy Dave Petersen and wife Monica Cappadonna; his five nieces, Tucker, Darla, Vanessa, Kari and Carissa; and a host of extended family and friends, including his casino family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, at 11 am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 848 Harter Rd. In Dallas. Interment will follow at Sparkman Hillcrest Cemetery.
