Neev Smit Patel

IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Neev. Neev Patel passed away on June 11, 2022 at home, in loving presence of family and friends. Neev was born on February 15, 2022, to parents Tulsi and Smit Patel, in Irving, Texas.

Though he faced a myriad of challenges, he was the first known survivor in the world of a very rare illness. Neev and family endured the struggle with tender hearts.

Neev loved spending time outdoors, in parents' lap and going for long stroller rides in the park. He loved his pacifiers dearly, so much so, he would hold on to them and fall asleep. More than his love for pacifiers, he disliked car seats. He also loved to curl up to his mom's chest and fall asleep. He had his "It's-time-to-drink-your-bottle" position with one leg over the other and also his "I-am-thinking-now" position with his index finger on his chin. He wanted immediate diaper changes and also enjoyed warm showers. He had his favorite lullaby to fall asleep too.

While he was at the hospital, he had his favorite nurse, whom he allowed her to do all exams without crying. And if he was already crying when she walked in, he would stop as soon as he heard her voice. He was our little warrior who fought his illness till the last minute. Truly, he lived every second by the meaning of his name - A Strong Foundation.

Neev was predeceased by maternal grandparents Umaben and Sanjaybhai, paternal grandparents Manjulaben and Kanjibhai. He is survived by his parents Smit and Tulsi, and a host of family and friends.

Hughes Family Tribute Center has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. A memorial will be held at Hughes Family Tribute Center, located at 9700 Webb Chapel Road, Dallas, TX, at 10:00 am.

The family encourages all who knew Neev to attend to share memories and pray for the blessed heart.
