Nora Cuellar Ruiz, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023, in Irving, Texas. She was 93 years old.
Nora was born Nora Cuellar on November 20, 1929, in Kaufman, Texas, to her parents, Carmen and Virginia Cuellar. She grew up in a loving family and attended Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, Texas.
After high school, Nora married her beloved husband, Charles L. Ruiz, in 1948. Charles was a World War II veteran who had just returned home from serving his country. Together, they started a family and raised four wonderful sons. They were married for 63 years, up until Charles' passing.
Nora was a devoted wife and mother, who loved her family more than anything else. She dedicated much of her time to volunteering for various causes, including the Scottish Rite Hospital, where she helped with sewing projects, and the Catholic Sisters of the World, where she offered her services to those in need.
In addition to her volunteer work, Nora also served on the Grand Jury, where she was able to use her legal knowledge and expertise to serve her community.
Nora will be deeply missed by her sons, Vincent Ruiz, Mario Ruiz, and Stevan Ruiz, along with their wives, her sister, Mary Ann Villareal, and Nora's many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her many friends and loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love that will never be forgotten.
She will be joining in Heaven her parents, her husband, and her son, Charles C. Ruiz.
Her family would like to express their gratitude to all those who have shown them love and support during this difficult time. Nora will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
