Padma Joshi Life Story

August 9, 1947 to November 13, 2025

Padma (born Usha) passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025 at the age of 78 in Carrollton, Texas. She was born in Miraj, Maharashtra (India) on August 9, 1947. In the 1960's she accompanied her husband to Baltimore, Maryland to pursue his PhD at Johns Hopkins University. They had two daughters and continued to reside in Baltimore until 1983 when they moved to Beaumont, Texas. In 2023 Padma moved to Carrollton, Texas to be close to her elder daughter.

Padma's career was spent in the retail industry and as a tax associate. In her spare time she volunteered at the local hospital. She enjoyed working and helping others and made an impact on many with her kind and caring personality. Padma also had a passion for rescuing animals and feeding wildlife. She truly saw the inherent value in all living creatures. In addition to her love for people and animals, she enjoyed reading, watching television, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

Padma devoted her life to raising her children and made it look easy. She never complained or asked for attention for all of her sacrifices. She lived a modest life and did so with grace. She had a free spirit and lived life on her own terms. She always trusted her intuition and never wavered in her decisions. She didn't take things or even herself too seriously, and always had a smile on her face. Padma's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren (both the human and furry kind). Her legacy will continue to live on through the numerous lives she touched.

Padma was preceded in death by her husband, Narayan Ramachandra Joshi. She is survived by her daughter Priya Joshi and husband Mahesh Pethe, their daughter Ashna Pethe, daughter Leena Carvajal and husband Olman Carvajal, and canine son Benji.
