Patricia Dashiell Life Story

Patricia (Pat) Penry Dashiell passed peacefully on May 11, 2024, in Westminster, CO after a prolonged illness.

Pat was born on October 11, 1941, in San Antonio, TX. Her family soon moved when she was an infant to Dallas, TX where she graduated from Bryan Adams High School. Pat worked her way through the University of Texas at Austin earning a Bachelor's degree in 1964. Pat enjoyed a forty-plus year career as an award-winning Interior Designer in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Denver, and was an active member in the American Society of Interior Design. Pat was also active in community involvement including as homeowner association director, active in church activity, city council member, neighborhood garden clubs, and other organizations.

Pat is survived by her husband Stan Cullick, children Mary Foust (Dallas, TX), Patricia Dashiell (Fort Wayne, IN), David Dashiell (Naples, FL), Beth Friedmann and husband Eric (Great Neck, NY). Pat is also survived by grandchildren Tara Roe, David Foust, Michael Foust, (Dallas, TX) and Sam Friedmann (Great Neck, NY), and great-daughter Lillie Struve-Roe. Pat is also survived by her brother Michael Penry and wife Margaret (Little Rock, AR), sister Irene Murphy (North Grafton, MA), niece Kate Cushing and husband David and children (Mendon, MA), cousins Ron Ludwick and wife Tiffany (Aurora, CO) and children, Charles Carneal (Dallas, TX), David Carneal and wife Lisa (Rowlett, TX) and Carolyn Hensler (NJ) and their children Lindsey, Matthew, Page, and Kelly and their families.

Pat is remembered for her love of arts, music, reading, gardening, nature, fossil hunting, adventure travel, and family. She is also remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, stories, and conversations. Pat loved outdoor activities as an avid bicyclist, hiker, backpacker, and triathlete. She astonished friends and family with her knowledge of plants, fungi, ferns, moss and wildlife on hikes. To quote one her closest friends, "Pat was one of a kind, so involved & interested in nature and an extraordinary designer. We feel lucky to have known her."

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on July 12, 1:00 PM at the Hughes Family Tribute Cener, 9700 Webb Chapel Rd., Dallas, TX 75220.
