Raja Sarangi

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved friend Raja Sarangi, who departed this life on 8th July after a courageous battle with kidney failure. At 50 years old, Raja was a devoted husband to Swarnava (Soma) and a loving father to his two sons, Gaurav, 20, and Vaibhav, 14.
 
Raja, the eldest of three brothers, became the family's pillar after their father's passing last year. He graduated from Angul High School as a top-50 student in the Odisha board exams. In 1995, he completed his undergraduate degree with honors in Physics from Ravenshaw College. He earned his Master's degree at the Central University, Hyderabad, in 1999. He has worked for Hitachi since 2007, when he came to the US.  
 
Raja was an avid cricket fan and a music lover who also enjoyed singing. He was much loved by his friends, who remember him for his unassuming manners and quiet and gentle spirit.  
 
Raja's funeral service will be at Hughes Family Tribute Center, 9700 Webb Chapel Rd, Dallas, TX 75220. Funeral Puja will be performed from 12 to 12:30 pm, tribute and viewing from 1 to 2 pm, followed by a Hindu cremation service.
