Raymond Charles Oliver was born in Dallas, Texas on February 11, 1969, to parents Barbara and Raymond Oliver. Raymond joined his heavenly father and his earthly father in heaven on April 15, 2023. Raymond was always sweet, kind, and loving, bringing a special joy to his family. For Raymond, every day was a celebration of his birthday, which he loved to share with those around him. Singing "Happy Birthday" was encouraged every day.
Raymond had a few simple pleasures in life, and he cherished them dearly. He loved coloring books and markers, the Dallas Cowboys and was particularly fond of McDonald's Happy Meals, especially fries and cokes. He also had a fondness for holidays, and his favorite song was "Jingle Bells."
In his passing, Raymond's family chose to donate his organs to help others in need. His selflessness has since saved the lives of four people, leaving an everlasting impact on those he has helped.
A Walk of Honor was held to pay tribute to Raymond's selfless act. Over 100 doctors and nurses lined the halls on two floors on the way to the operating room to express their gratitude for his donation. "Amazing Grace" played over the loudspeaker, and everyone thanked him as they rolled his bed down the hall.
Raymond is survived by his loving mother Barbara Latham and her husband Gene; brother Brian Oliver and his wife Leslie; brother John Oliver and his wife Tiffany; sister Joy Hart and her husband Robert; nephews Luke Oliver, Owen Oliver, and Aiden Hart; and nieces Haley Shue and Breanne Richardson. He joined in heaven his father, Raymond Alan Oliver.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at noon with visitation starting at 11 am. He will be laid to rest next to his father in Laurel Land Memorial Park thereafter.
Raymond Charles Oliver will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His kindness, selflessness, and love for life will always be remembered. May he rest in peace.
