On Saturday, December 3rd, Robert L Potter, passed away. He was eighty-two. Born to Roy Lee and Nettie Belle Potter, Robert grew up on a ranch outside of Cisco Texas. Robert started at Texas Tech but joined the Air Force and went to Korea. Upon his return he met Mary Anne Fowler, who also went to Texas Tech, and the two were married Christmas eve Dec. 24, 1963, in front of the preacher's Christmas tree.
Robert was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an exceptional salesman, and he was best known for his quick-witted humor and ability to fix almost anything. Any time one of his children questioned his method of install or repair, he would immediately respond, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right!" Robert loved entertaining his grandchildren, and they loved the entertainment. One of their favorites was watching him leap into the air and click his heels together twice before "landing." We loved watching them try to duplicate the jump.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, and their sons, Randy (his wife Rachel) and David (his wife Claire), and daughter Renee, and grandchildren Austin, Ian, Sean, Monica, Sydney, Nick and Olivia; great grandchildren August and Raelynn and sister, Sherry Gallagher. A small private celebration of Robert's life will be held. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to the Salvation Army, or North Texas Foodbank, or any charity of your choice.
