Rohinikumari (Rohini) Vijay Joshi passed away peacefully with loving family by her side at Baylor Roberts Hospital in Dallas, Texas on Friday, September 20, 2024. She was 88 years old.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vijay Sitaram Joshi. She leaves behind: two daughters - Swati and Madhavi; Madhavi's husband, son-in-law Matthew; five grandchildren - Nina, Jacob, Marwa, Joseph, and Leah; and the family dog - Finnegan.

Rohini was born on December 22, 1935 in Junagadh, Gujarat, India. She lost her father at a very young age, but persevered, earning many accolades and monetary prizes for her academic excellence. She was the first woman in her town to go to college. She met her husband, Vijay, at school, and they were married for 45 years before Vijay passed away in December 2007.

She earned a postgraduate Masters Degree in Chemistry. She worked as a teacher, a chemist, a quality control manager at cosmetic companies Faberge and Max Factor, and retired as a college professor.

She was an excellent cook - no one could rival her dishes; and she was an excellent gardener - anything she touched blossomed.

She loved her family fiercely; they will miss her terribly as will all her dear friends. Her legacy will always live on through all of them. Her memory will be a blessing.
