Sadie Lois Brownlee

Sadie Lois Brownlee was born on November 24, 1934, in a small town near Massey, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024 in a Forney, Texas nursing home. Raised in a farming community after moving to Garvin, Oklahoma, Sadie embodied the spirit of a true country girl, tough and adventurous. A tomboy at heart, she had a deep love for riding horses, whether bareback, standing upright on their backs, or even doing handstands. The horses seemed to respond to her every command. Known for her spirited personality, she didn't shy away from challenging any boy who didn't act like a gentleman or got in her way.

Sadie enjoyed simple pleasures, especially going to the movies, which became a special part of her life. One fateful day, she met the love of her life, William Brownlee, and the two married in 1955. Together, they built a loving family with two children, Hope and William. Sadie and her husband Bill raised their two children in an old East Dallas Baptist church and the entire family became believers in Christ. The whole family enjoyed yearly summer vacations to Colorado and camping out. As much as Sadie loved being a mother, she cherished even more the roles of grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family meant everything to her.

In February 1977, Sadie was left heartbroken when her beloved husband passed away. Nevertheless, she found the strength to carry on, pouring her love and attention into her family. She continued enjoying the things she loved, from bargain hunting at garage and estate sales to playing water volleyball with her family. Sadie was also a proud and passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, always rooting for her team.

In the end, Sadie was ready for her heavenly reunion with Jesus, her parents, and her beloved William. She is survived by her children, Hope Smith and her husband John, and William Brownlee and his wife Kathy; her grandchildren Jeremy Brownlee and his wife Kerry, Stephanie Turner and her husband Brian, Jennifer Mason and her husband Rickey, and Cheryl Smith and her partner Coty Shearman; and great-grandchildren Sydney Turner, Kaylee Turner, Alyse Perry, Peyton Perry, Rickey Mason Jr., Rhythm Mason, Riley Shearman, Kyle Shearman, Emma Brownlee, Madison Brownlee, Aliyah Brownlee, Ayden Brownlee, and Elena Brownlee.

Her family takes comfort knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband and in the presence of the Lord.
