It is with profound love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra Ann Humpert, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, and treasured friend, who entered eternal rest on Monday, February 16, 2026, in Keller, Texas. Born on Friday, April 15, 1949, to James Michael Walsh and Mary Walsh, Sandra lived a life rooted in faith, creativity, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Sandra possessed a gentle yet vibrant spirit. She was an artistic soul whose creativity flowed naturally into every part of her life. She pursued her passion for art at Brookhaven College, where she earned her associate's degree and developed skills that would later bless her family and community through countless handmade creations. Whether sewing costumes, decorating her home with antiques rich in history, or crafting thoughtful gifts, Sandra's hands were always creating something meaningful.
A devoted Catholic, Sandra's faith was the foundation of her life. She raised her children with strong spiritual values, guiding them with love, prayer, and example. One of her most cherished traditions was gifting each of her children a rosary; symbols of her enduring faith and her desire for them to always walk closely with the Lord. Her compassion extended far beyond her immediate family; she volunteered her time and talents in service of others, including support for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and lovingly shared her famous homemade gingerbread cookies, which brought comfort and joy to many.
Above all else, Sandra was a mother. It was the role she cherished most and the one she embodied with unmatched dedication. She was the heart of her home; a source of warmth, laughter, creativity, and unconditional love. She delighted in nurturing and "spoiling" her children, creating a safe and joyful space where they always felt seen, supported, and deeply loved.
Sandra was the proud mother of Royce Humpert Jr., Natalie Hull, James Humpert, and Eric Humpert. Her love for each of them was steadfast and personal, shaped by her attentive nature and gentle guidance. Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled and the memories she created with them.
She was also a devoted and adoring grandmother to Isabella, Lizzie, and Gabriel, whose lives she followed with boundless enthusiasm. Sandra never missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events, recitals, or performances, cheering them on with pride and joy. She taught them the importance of family, kindness, and love-not through words alone, but through the way she lived.
Sandra shared a remarkable love story with her husband, Royce Humpert Sr., whom she married in Nineteen Seventy-Two. From the moment he first saw her, Royce knew she would be his wife. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, commitment, and devotion. Each anniversary was marked by the planting of a rose bush-a tradition that grew into a treasured
collection of over forty flourishing bushes, lovingly cared for by Sandra and symbolic of the life they built together.
Sandra is survived by her children: Royce Humpert Jr. and his wife Katherine, Natalie Hull and her husband Nick, James Humpert, and Eric Humpert; her sisters Elaine Harvey and her husband William, and Rosemary Fields and her husband Ken; her beloved grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her presence in their lives.
She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Royce Humpert Sr., and her parents James Michael Walsh and Mary Walsh, who preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Sandra's life at the following services. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM, at the Chapel at Hughes Family Tribute Center. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at St. Rita Catholic Community. Sandra will be laid to rest at a graveside service on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
Though Sandra's earthly journey has ended, her love, faith, and gentle spirit remain alive in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, devotion to family, and unwavering faith. Her legacy is one of love-a love that will continue to guide and comfort her family for generations to come. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sandra's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in support of its mission of advancing research and providing compassionate care to children and families in need. This cause was close to Sandra's heart, and honoring her in this way reflects her lifelong spirit of generosity, faith, and service to others.
