Sandra Pleasant Life Story

Sandra George Pleasant fell asleep peacefully and joined our Lord on August 3rd, 2024. She bravely fought a twenty-nine yearlong battle with breast cancer, all while continuing to serve at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she found great joy in her church community. As a daughter, mother, wife, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, friend to many, and avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan, she was a guiding light to all who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith.

Daughter of Paul and Cindy George, Sandra grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas, and attended Wichita Falls High School and Midwestern State University, where she earned a degree in Biology. She continued her education at Texas Women's University and earned a degree in physical therapy. In 1982, she relocated to Dallas, Texas, beginning her career as a licensed physical therapist at R.H. Dedman Hospital. It was then at Richardson Medical Center in 1992 where she met her loving husband, Jon Mark Pleasant, who she married on June 29, 1996. In addition to working as a physical therapist, she helped Abbett Elementary students with reading comprehension, and taught vacation bible school and kindergarten Sunday School for over 20 years at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Additionally, she was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society.

Sandra dedicated her life to God, her family, and helping others whenever she had the opportunity. No matter what came her way, she stood strong in her faith through life's many challenges. Sandra's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a family who will continue to honor her memory and a community that will forever remember her presence.

Sandra is preceded in death by her father, Paul George, and sister, Doris Moutos. She is survived by her husband, Jon, and son, Paul, who was her life and her world; her mother, Cindy George, of Little Rock, AR; brother-in-law, Dean Moutos of Little Rock, AR; nieces Maria Moutos and Kerri Moutos, and nephew Christopher Moutos, of Little Rock, AR; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jonathan and Becky Pleasant and niece Emma Pleasant of Louisville, TN; and many cousins in Texas, Greece, and Australia.

The Trisagion prayer service and visitation will be on Thursday, August 8th, at 7 p.m., and the funeral service will be on Friday, August 9th, at 10 a.m., both at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75240. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Barbara's Philoptochos Society at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

May her memory be eternal.
