Sara Arriaga Mendoza

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sara “Sarita” Arriaga Mendoza, who departed this life on January 31, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 66. Though her absence leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of those who loved her, comfort is found in knowing she is now at peace, embraced by God’s eternal love.

Born on January 24, 1959, in Vanegas, Mexico, she displayed remarkable courage from an early age. At just 15 years old, she embarked on a journey to the United States, where she built a life defined by resilience, dedication, and unwavering faith.

Above all else, family was her greatest treasure. As a devoted mother to Christopher, Elizardo, Saradely, and Eliseo, she poured every ounce of love, strength, and wisdom into their upbringing. To them, she was not only a mother but a steadfast guide, a protector, and the heart of their home.

Her dedication extended beyond her family to her work as a cleaning lady and nanny, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and care. Whether within the homes she worked in or among those she encountered, she carried herself with grace and gratitude, leaving warmth in her wake.

Creativity was woven into every part of her life. Whether through sewing, arts and crafts, or tending to her beloved plants, she found joy in nurturing both beauty and life. Her hands, always busy, stitched together more than just fabric—she stitched together memories, love, and a legacy that will endure.

A gifted cook, she shared her love through the meals she prepared, with her pozole and tamales becoming cherished favorites among family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of gathering, where food was more than nourishment—it was a symbol of love, tradition, and togetherness.

Strength was her defining trait. Through every hardship, she remained steadfast, facing life’s challenges with unwavering faith and determination. Her devotion to God guided her in all she did, and she found great joy in serving her church, Cristo Rey in Dallas, Texas, where she greeted every visitor with warmth and kindness.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and perseverance. Those who mourn her passing include her husband, Margarito Luis Escobedo; her children, Chris Arriaga (wife, María Ornelas), Elizardo Arriaga (wife, Brenda Arriaga), Saradely Luis, and Eliseo Luis (Lizeth Fino); grandchildren,Fernando Martínez, Jasmine Hayde Arriaga and Eli Arriaga; and her siblings, Maria Elizabeth Perez, Samuel Arriaga, Margarita Torres, Virginia Galvan, Juan Arriaga, and Jose Arriaga.

She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Herminia Mendoza Arriaga and J. Guadalupe Arriaga Perez, and her brother, Adan Arriaga.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared, the lessons she imparted, and the faith she lived by will continue to shine in the lives she touched.

Aunque su ausencia deja un vacío imposible de llenar en los corazones de quienes la amaron, encontramos consuelo en saber que ahora descansa en paz, abrazada por el amor eterno de Dios.

Nacida el 24 de enero de 1959 en Vanegas, México, demostró una valentía extraordinaria desde una edad temprana. Con tan solo 15 años, emprendió un viaje a los Estados Unidos, donde construyó una vida marcada por la resiliencia, la dedicación y una fe inquebrantable.

Por encima de todo, su mayor tesoro fue su familia. Como madre dedicada de Christopher, Elizardo, Saradely y Eliseo, entregó cada gota de amor, fortaleza y sabiduría en la crianza de sus hijos. Para ellos, fue más que una madre: fue una guía firme, una protectora y el corazón de su hogar.

Su entrega no solo se reflejaba en su familia, sino también en su trabajo como empleada de limpieza y niñera, donde tocó innumerables vidas con su bondad y dedicación. La creatividad fue una parte esencial de su vida. A través de la costura, las artesanías y el cuidado de sus queridas plantas, encontró alegría en nutrir tanto la belleza como la vida. Sus manos, siempre ocupadas, no solo cosían tela, sino también recuerdos, amor y un legado que perdurará.

Talentosa en la cocina, compartía su amor a través de los platillos que preparaba. Su pozole y tamales se convirtieron en favoritos de su familia y amigos. Su cocina era un lugar de reunión, donde la comida era más que un simple sustento: era un símbolo de amor, tradición y unión.

La fortaleza fue su rasgo más característico. Enfrentó cada desafío con firmeza, manteniéndose siempre fiel a su fe y su determinación. Su devoción a Dios la guiaba en todo lo que hacía, y encontró gran alegría en servir en su iglesia, Cristo Rey en Dallas, Texas, donde recibía a cada visitante con calidez y amabilidad.

Deja un legado de amor, fe y perseverancia. Lloran su partida su esposo, Margarito Luis Escobedo; sus hijos, Chris Arriaga (esposa, María Ornelas), Elizardo Arriaga (esposa, Brenda Arriaga), Saradely Luis y Eliseo Luis (Lizeth Fino); sus nietos, Fernando Martínez, Jasmine Hayde Arriaga y Eli Arriaga; y sus hermanos, María Elizabeth Pérez, Samuel Arriaga, Margarita Torres, Virginia Galván, Juan Arriaga y José Arriaga.

En el cielo se reúne con sus padres, Herminia Mendoza Arriaga y J. Guadalupe Arriaga Pérez, y su hermano, Adán Arriaga.

Su presencia será profundamente extrañada, pero el amor que compartió, las lecciones que dejó y la fe con la que vivió seguirán brillando en las vidas de todos aquellos que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla.
