Sarah Santillan Life Story

Sarah Barron Santillan passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on September 3, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, Sarah was a pillar of strength, love, and joy for her family and friends.

Sarah's journey through life was marked by deep connections and enduring love. On January 4, 1956, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship by marrying her beloved husband, Robert Santillan Sr. Their union lasted 52 years until his passing in 2008, leaving an indelible mark on the Santillan family.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Sarah was the heart of her family. She had an exceptional talent for bringing people together, often hosting joyous gatherings that created lasting memories for all who attended.

A diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Sarah's enthusiasm for football was infectious. To everyone in her neighborhood, she was known as the proud owner of the "Cowboys House". The Cowboys house was headlined in the Dallas Morning News and a feature on the evening news. Recognized by all in her neighborhood, she could be found passionately cheering for her team in her head to toe Cowboys fashion on game day and all the days in between.

Sarah had a zest for life that was reflected in her love for music and dance. She would often be caught singing and dancing to the tunes of Elvis, The Platters, and Richie Valens, among others, filling her home with the joyous sounds of her favorite oldies.

Known for her fabulous style, Sarah embraced bling, big hair, and bold makeup. Her vibrant personality shone through her fashion choices, leaving an impression of a woman who embraced life with flair and confidence.

A woman of faith, Sarah was a devoted Methodist Christian. Her spirituality was a guiding force in her life, providing comfort and strength to her and those around her.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Barron and Carlotta Barron, her sister Yolanda Rincon, and her beloved husband, Robert Santillan Sr.

She is survived by her loving children: Robert Santillan Jr., Samuel Santillan, Charles Santillan Sr., Dean Santillan, and Yolanda Santillan. Sarah leaves behind a legacy of love and joy through her 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will include Robert Santillan III, Marcus Santillan, Aerik Santillan, Charles Santillan, Jr., Nathaniel Santillan, and David Santillan.
