Severiano Aranda

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Severiano Aranda, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, who peacefully departed this life on June 17, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born on February 21, 1936, in La Ventura, Coahuila, Mexico, Severiano dedicated his life to his faith, his family, and his community. He resided in Dallas, Texas, where he was known for sharing messages of hope and kindness with all who knew him.
Severiano was a retired pastor who spent his life in service to others. His love for scripture and his calling to ministry guided his path. He was a teacher, a spiritual leader, and a friend to many. Alongside his beloved wife, Julia Alvarado De Aranda, he served his church community faithfully, building a life centered on love, service, and faith.
In 1963, Severiano married Julia, the love of his life. Their story began in a cookie factory in Monterey, Mexico, and over 53 years, they built a beautiful life together. They traveled, explored new places, and made countless memories with their family, from the beaches of Galveston to the family vacations in Orlando, being alongside family is what mattered most.
Severiano was a man of many passions. A self-taught singer and guitar player, he brought music and joy into the lives of others. He loved family volleyball games, cooking meals with Julia, and sharing laughter and food around the table. He also enjoyed visiting pawn shops for hidden treasures, collecting and selling scrap metal, and indulging in his favorite orange slice candies.
One of the most meaningful moments in his later years was a return trip to his hometown of La Ventura, where he reconnected with his roots and celebrated the joy of his upbringing with his family by his side.
Severiano was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Alvarado de Aranda; his mother, Petra Hernandez; and his father, Pascual Aranda. He is survived by his daughter, Maria Solis, and her husband, Javier Solis; his son Daniel Aranda and wife Lucretia Aranda, his son Jesus Aranda, his daughter Jacqueline Gomez and her husband Jose Gomez, and his son Severiano Aranda Jr and his wife Noemi Aranda. There are many other loving family members, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will continue to carry forward his legacy.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hughes Family Tribute Center. A funeral service will follow on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Severiano will be laid to rest at 9718 Webb Chapel Rd, Dallas, TX 75220.
Severiano's life was a testament to faith, love, and kindness. His generous spirit, warm heart, and steady presence will be missed deeply and remembered always.
